Production/Product Development for Consumer Goods Company

JOHN Yeiser Research & Development LLC is hiring a full-time Production/Product Development specialist to join its growing team in Santee, San Diego County — driving hardlines and durable goods from concept through to market-ready product.

About the Role

YRD, LLC is a consumer goods company whose product portfolio spans garden, beauty, cleaning, kitchen, automotive, and additional categories — distributed across home shopping television networks, major national retail chains, and e-commerce platforms. In this Production/Product Development position, you will serve as a central coordinator between internal stakeholders and external supply chain partners, ensuring products are developed on time, on spec, and ready to perform in a competitive multi-channel retail environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end product development cycles for hardlines/durable goods across multiple categories
• Create and maintain detailed product specifications, bill of materials, and development timelines
• Coordinate with overseas and domestic manufacturers to manage samples, revisions, and production approvals
• Review and evaluate product samples for quality, functionality, and compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with marketing and sourcing teams to align product attributes with channel-specific retail and e-commerce requirements
• Track production schedules and communicate status updates to cross-functional teams
• Support packaging development, labeling compliance, and regulatory documentation as needed
• Identify and resolve production issues to keep launch timelines on track

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in product development, production coordination, or a related role within consumer goods or hardlines
• Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple SKUs and deadlines simultaneously
• Familiarity with retail, home shopping, or e-commerce product requirements and packaging standards
• Experience communicating with international manufacturers and managing sample approval processes
• Detail-oriented approach to spec writing, quality review, and documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in fast-paced, small-team environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
