About the Role

As an International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert at CDM Smith, you will serve as a technical authority on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), guiding investigative work, forensic source evaluation, and remediation strategy across projects with global reach. Based at Redstone Arsenal in Madison County, this position places you at the center of meaningful environmental work where your specialized knowledge directly shapes outcomes and your career path.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead PFAS forensic investigations, including source identification, characterization, and fate-and-transport analysis.
• Provide expert technical direction on sampling design, data interpretation, and contamination assessment.
• Support international projects with subject-matter guidance on PFAS science, regulatory context, and best practices.
• Translate complex forensic findings into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and project teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance remediation and risk-management solutions.

Qualifications

• Recognized expertise in PFAS forensics, environmental chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with contaminant source evaluation and forensic investigation methods.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards relevant to PFAS in domestic and international settings.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work on-site at Redstone Arsenal, Madison County (this role is not remote).
