Estates & Trusts Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Orion Placement is hiring a full-time Estates & Trusts Paralegal / Legal Assistant in Bethesda, Wayne County, to support an expanding trusts and estates team at an established, nationally regarded law firm. This on-site role offers the chance to handle substantive fiduciary matters for clients throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

About the Role

As an Estates & Trusts Paralegal / Legal Assistant with Orion Placement, you will work directly alongside attorneys on estate administration, trust management, probate, guardianship, and related fiduciary work. These are matters that touch clients during pivotal moments in their lives, so attention to detail, discretion, and genuine care are essential. The position is based in Bethesda, Wayne County, and reports in person rather than remotely. The posted compensation range is $45,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the full lifecycle of estate administration and probate matters
• Prepare, organize, and maintain trust, guardianship, and fiduciary documentation
• Coordinate filings, correspondence, and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions, including Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and beneficiaries throughout each engagement
• Track case progress and keep matter files accurate and current

Qualifications

• Background or hands-on experience in estates, trusts, probate, or fiduciary law practice
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing competing deadlines
• Reliability, sound judgment, and a high standard of confidentiality
• Ability to work on-site in Bethesda, Wayne County, in a collaborative team environment
