Join ORC as a Utilities Right of Way Agent in St. Joseph, Michigan. This full-time exempt position offers the flexibility to work from your home office while remaining actively engaged with our St. Joseph operations, traveling to our office 2-3 days each week and throughout Michigan approximately 25% of the time.
About the Role
As a Utilities Right of Way Agent for ORC in St. Joseph County, you'll manage right-of-way initiatives and coordinate utility easement matters across our Michigan service territory. This role combines fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and administrative responsibilities to ensure smooth operations for utility right-of-way projects.
What You'll Do
- Manage utility right-of-way acquisitions and easement negotiations
- Coordinate with property owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Conduct site visits and inspections throughout Michigan
- Maintain compliance with state and federal right-of-way regulations
- Document and track project status and timelines
- Support field teams and resolve right-of-way issues on active utility projects
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in utilities, right-of-way management, or related field operations
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for property owner and agency interactions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Residency within a 50-mile radius of our St. Joseph, MI office location
- Willingness to commute to our St. Joseph office 2-3 days weekly
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with project management tools and basic computer applications
