About the Role

As a truck driver for U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate a tractor-trailer transporting freight via dry van across multiple states. The company guarantees a weekly minimum of $1,500, with top performers in the fleet earning $1,700 per week or more. Most drivers average 2,000 miles weekly and maintain a 12 days out / 2 days home schedule.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer transporting dry van freight across multiple states
• Maintain accurate logbooks and perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Meet delivery schedules while adhering to DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel
• Monitor vehicle systems and report maintenance needs promptly

What We're Looking For

• Current CDL-A license with a clean driving record
• 1 to 5 months of professional truck driving experience (OTR preferred)
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety requirements
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage the physical and mental demands of long-haul driving
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices and basic truck systems

Compensation and Benefits

U.S. Xpress - OTR offers competitive pay starting at 57–64 cents per mile based on experience, a guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,500, and a $4,000 sign-on bonus to launch your career. Drivers who rank in the top 20% of our fleet typically earn $1,700 or more per week. For team drivers, the company provides a $5,000 sign-on bonus split between partners, 72–80 cents per mile split pay, and the opportunity to cover approximately 5,000 miles per week.
