About the Role

As an over-the-road truck driver with U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate a tractor-trailer hauling dry van freight in long-distance operations. This is a full-time position designed for professional drivers seeking consistency and predictability in their careers. You'll average approximately 2,000 miles each week on a time-tested schedule: 28 consecutive days on the road followed by 5 dedicated days at home. Every route is planned in advance so you know your commitment ahead of time, and every freight assignment features no manual handling, letting you focus on safe, professional driving.

What You'll Do

• Operate a tractor-trailer safely as an independent over-the-road driver
• Haul no-touch, dry van freight with zero manual loading or unloading duties
• Maintain adherence to DOT regulations, company safety standards, and scheduled vehicle maintenance
• Complete 28-day road cycles on pre-planned routes with guaranteed 5-day home periods
• Deliver freight reliably while managing logs and vehicle inspections

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license with 1–5 months of verifiable over-the-road experience
• Clean driving record and demonstrated safety history
• Ability to work independently and manage extended periods away from home
• Commitment to DOT compliance and professional driving practices

Compensation & Benefits

You'll earn 57–64 cents per mile based on your experience level. With consistent, planned mileage, top performers in our driver ranks earn approximately $1,750 weekly. Additional benefits include a $4,000 sign-on bonus, performance-based earnings throughout your tenure, and paid vacation time to spend with family between road cycles.
