Trellix Security Engineer

Guidehouse is hiring a full-time Trellix Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team in Tysons Corner, Fairfax County, Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to design, deploy, and manage enterprise endpoint protection and threat detection infrastructure.

About This Position

As a Trellix Security Engineer at Guidehouse, you'll take ownership of our organization's endpoint security architecture and operations. You'll work with advanced threat protection tools, incident response workflows, and security policy frameworks to defend critical systems and data. This is a hands-on technical position reporting to our Cyber Security leadership, with travel to client or internal sites required up to 10% of the time. An active Public Trust clearance is required to start.

Core Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain Trellix security architecture and policies across the enterprise
• Monitor and analyze security events, alerts, and threat indicators across endpoints and network infrastructure
• Respond to security incidents and suspected breaches with triage, containment, and remediation support
• Configure, deploy, and refine endpoint protection policies and detection rules to identify emerging threats
• Perform security assessments to evaluate current protections and recommend improvements
• Document configurations, procedures, and lessons learned to strengthen organizational security posture

Qualifications

• Professional experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Trellix (formerly McAfee) security products
• Solid understanding of endpoint protection strategies, threat detection methods, and incident response
• Ability to read, interpret, and work with security logs, alerts, and forensic data
• Experience with security policy creation and enforcement across enterprise environments
• Capability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Active Public Trust clearance or eligibility to obtain one
