About the Role

This is a temporary, full-time position lasting nine months or less, with employment running from May 15, 2026 through October 31, 2026. The hourly pay range is $19.00 to $20.00. Whether you join as a Lead or as a General Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator, you'll be stationed at the Williams Fork Reservoir in Grand County, Colorado, working hands-on to protect one of the area's valued recreational waterways. This is an on-site role; remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing watercraft for signs of aquatic invasive species.
  • Perform decontamination procedures on vessels and equipment as needed.
  • Educate boaters and visitors on prevention practices and program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and follow established safety protocols.
  • For Lead applicants: provide on-site guidance, coordinate daily station operations, and support fellow inspectors.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the season.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following inspection and decontamination procedures.
  • Good communication skills for interacting courteously with the boating public.
  • Reliability and the ability to work scheduled shifts at the Grand County location.
  • Lead candidates should demonstrate the capacity to direct and support a team on-site.
