About the Role
This is a 9.5-month (200-day), exempt position based at Richmond High School for the Arts. As a Health and Physical Education Teacher, you will deliver professional instruction in a dedicated subject area, guiding students through a structured curriculum within a school setting. Reporting directly to the School Principal, you will shape engaging lessons that build healthy habits, physical fitness, and personal well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach Health and Physical Education classes to students across assigned grade levels.
- Provide specialized professional instruction and training tailored to each student's development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom and activity environment.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to support varied learning needs.
- Carry out professional duties on-site at Richmond High School for the Arts under the direction of the School Principal.
Qualifications
- Appropriate teaching credentials and subject-area preparation in Health and Physical Education, as required for licensure.
- Ability to perform professional teaching work in a school environment.
- Strong commitment to student achievement, wellness, and physical fitness.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills.
- Availability to work the full 9.5-month (200-day) school calendar in an exempt, full-time capacity.
