About the Role

As a Survivor Focused Advocacy Intern, you will join a structured and closely supervised program designed to fulfill academic field placement requirements while immersing you in real-world advocacy work. Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis coordinates internships across its safe house, housing assistance, court services, counseling, advocacy, and community outreach divisions, giving you exposure to the full continuum of services that support survivors of domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, survivor-focused advocacy and support under the guidance of experienced staff.
• Assist within safe house, housing, court services, counseling, and outreach programs as assigned.
• Participate in supervised field activities that satisfy your academic placement objectives.
• Contribute to community outreach efforts that raise awareness of domestic violence resources.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold a trauma-informed, compassionate approach in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an academic program that requires a supervised field internship.
• Genuine interest in domestic violence advocacy, social services, or survivor support.
• Availability to commit to a full-time, on-site placement in Yalesville for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 term.
