Supplement-2026-2027-Boys Tennis Head Coach

Osceola County Schools is seeking a Supplement-2026-2027-Boys Tennis Head Coach for a full‑time supplemental position located in Saint Cloud, Stearns County.

About the Role

This supplemental coaching position supports the boys tennis program throughout the 2026‑2027 school year. In accordance with Osceola County Schools’ Teacher Contract Article 16.05, the supplement is first offered to current teachers; if the vacancy remains, other regularly employed district staff may be considered. The head coach will work closely with the athletic director, school administrators, and fellow coaches to deliver a safe, competitive, and educationally enriching tennis experience for student‑athletes.

What You'll Do

• Design and lead daily practice sessions that develop stroke technique, match strategy, physical conditioning, and sportsmanship.
• Schedule and coordinate team travel, home and away matches, and communicate logistics with opposing schools, officials, and facility staff.
• Maintain accurate eligibility records, attendance logs, and performance data in compliance with district, conference, and state athletic association requirements.
• Oversee the care, inventory, and safety of all tennis equipment, courts, and storage areas, ensuring proper maintenance and timely repairs.
• Provide regular updates to student‑athletes, parents, and guardians regarding practice expectations, match results, upcoming events, and academic eligibility.
• Enforce district policies on student welfare, academic standing, behavior, and ethical conduct both on and off the court.
• Participate in mandatory coaching clinics, staff meetings, and professional development activities as outlined by the district’s athletic department.
• Support fundraising initiatives and booster club efforts that help sustain the tennis program’s equipment, travel, and operational needs.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to hold or obtain the required three‑year qualification designated for supplemental coaching roles within Osceola County Schools.
• Solid knowledge of tennis fundamentals, rules, scoring, and effective coaching methodologies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR and first‑aid certification, or a commitment to obtain such credentials before the season begins.
• A proven commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and positive environment for all participants.
• Willingness to follow the district’s supplement hiring protocol, which prioritizes current teachers for vacant supplemental positions.
