SUE Technician Laborer – Chesapeake, VA

Join Pro-Pipe,Inc as a SUE Technician Laborer and help protect critical infrastructure across Chesapeake, Virginia. We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented technician to join our field operations team performing subsurface utility identification and marking work that keeps communities safe.

About the Role

This full-time position involves locating, identifying, and marking underground utility lines for construction projects, development work, and infrastructure planning. You'll work directly with project teams and utility companies to ensure accurate subsurface utility designation and mapping, preventing costly damage and safety hazards before construction begins.

What You'll Do

• Operate specialized locating equipment to identify underground utilities including gas, electric, water, and communications lines
• Mark and document the location and depth of utilities using established industry standards and safety protocols
• Communicate findings clearly with project stakeholders, engineers, and utility partners
• Maintain detailed records and maps documenting subsurface utility positions at job sites
• Conduct field work in varying weather conditions and terrain across the Chesapeake area
• Follow all safety regulations and company standards to protect yourself and others on site
• Support team coordination and contribute to successful project completion

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid US driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to work outdoors and perform hands-on labor in all weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in marking and documentation
• Dependability and commitment to safety on job sites
• Willingness to obtain locating certifications and safety training
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
