About the Role
As Subsurface Utility Engineering Party Chief, you will direct field teams in conducting subsurface utility locating and mapping operations. You are responsible for managing detection and survey work that supports design and construction projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance at every stage.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise field teams in subsurface utility detection, mapping, and location verification
- Operate and oversee Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other advanced detection equipment
- Ensure compliance with ANSI standards and industry safety protocols throughout all operations
- Coordinate with utility companies and project stakeholders to gather locating information
- Document and record utility locations, depths, and characteristics for design reference
- Manage field records, reports, and deliverables to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Train and mentor field personnel on proper techniques and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Proven field experience in subsurface utility engineering or utility locating
- Working knowledge of GPR technology and subsurface detection methods
- Strong understanding of ANSI standards for subsurface utility engineering
- Demonstrated leadership ability and field supervision experience
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the United States
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
