As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor at Aurora San Diego, you will deliver both direct and indirect clinical services to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders and related behavioral health conditions, serving as a key member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine clinical needs and appropriate level of care
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with each patient
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on recovery skills, relapse prevention, and coping strategies
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, and other clinical staff to support integrated treatment
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment goals as clinically indicated
- Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Assist with discharge planning and connect patients with community-based recovery resources
- Provide crisis support and de-escalation when needed within the care setting
What We're Looking For
- A current California CADC, RADT, CATC, LCSW, MFT, LPCC, or equivalent credential recognized for substance use disorder counseling
- Demonstrated experience providing direct counseling services to individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders
- Working knowledge of evidence-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, or 12-Step facilitation
- Strong assessment, documentation, and treatment-planning skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary behavioral health team
- Commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care
- Availability for the required Sunday and Monday schedule
