About the Role
As a Studio Lab Assistant I – IV in Art & Design, you will partner with faculty to keep the College's 2D, 3D, and digital art studios, labs, and gallery running smoothly. This on-site position in Bend centers on guiding and overseeing students as they create, while occasionally lending a hand with Fine Arts Center administrative needs. It is classified as part-time, temporary, hourly, and non-benefited.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Art & Design instructors to oversee students during open lab and studio sessions.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming atmosphere across 2D, 3D, and digital art workspaces and the gallery.
- Support students with the proper, responsible use of studio tools, equipment, and materials.
- Assist with Fine Arts Center (FAC) administrative tasks on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with 2D, 3D, and/or digital art and design practices and the equipment used in studio settings.
- Comfort monitoring and assisting students in a busy, collaborative lab environment.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and a cooperative approach to working with faculty and staff.
- Willingness to take on varied duties, including light administrative support when requested.
