Velora is hiring a Strategic Financial Analyst to join our growing finance team and help define how we plan, measure, and steer the business. Based in Canada, this full-time role puts you at the center of decisions that shape our long-term trajectory.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Strategic Financial Analyst owns several core finance work-streams — modelling, forecasting, board reporting, and strategic analysis — while partnering directly with leaders across Velora. Expect variety: one moment you're refining a multi-year operating model, the next you're executing on the day-to-day. This is a chance to step beyond transactional work into a true operator role where your analysis carries real weight. We're after someone with serious analytical horsepower, sound business judgment, and high personal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial models and analyses that support planning and strategic choices at every level of the company
- Own and continually improve Velora's operating model
- Identify trends and translate them into clear, actionable insights for both long-range strategy and near-term execution
- Contribute to corporate finance work including annual planning, forecasting, and board materials
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to gather data and deliver data-driven findings
- Produce high-quality analysis that shapes important business decisions
- Apply AI tools and workflows to increase the speed, quality, and scale of your output
Qualifications
- 2–4 years in investment banking, private equity, or a comparable field (TMT or SaaS coverage a plus)
- Strong financial modelling skills, including a track record of building and maintaining SaaS models
- Solid command of SaaS metrics and business models
- Clear written and verbal communication that lands with cross-functional partners and senior leaders
- A strong bias to action and comfort with shifting priorities in a high-growth setting

Working in Canada
The posting is tagged to Canada, a North American country of ten provinces and three territories spanning the Atlantic to the Pacific and north into the Arctic. It is the second-largest country by area, with the world’s longest coastline and the longest shared land border with the United States. Exact city, commute, and office context are not in DATA.

Expect depth on modeling (three-statement or driver-based), scenario analysis, and explaining trade-offs to non-finance partners. Prepare concise examples of forecasts you improved, decisions you influenced with data, and how you handle incomplete inputs. Ask how Velora defines “strategic” for this seat—cycle cadence, tools, and which leaders you support.
Strong fit if you enjoy analytical rigor, clear narrative for executives, and Canada-based, non-remote work with Velora. Thin company and market DATA means you should validate team scope, tools, and compensation directly in the process.
