About the Role

This Staff GIS Analyst role combines technical geospatial expertise with strategic data stewardship. You'll serve as a trusted technical partner across multiple business units, translating complex land descriptions and regulatory requirements into actionable spatial intelligence. Your work will ensure data integrity, maintain rigorous GIS standards, and deliver insights that inform operational and strategic decisions across EOG Resources.

What You'll Do

  • Manage raster, vector, and tabular data sets using GIS platforms and analytical tools
  • Analyze geographic and spatial data to solve operational, environmental, and regulatory challenges
  • Interpret complex land descriptions, legal documents, and survey information for accurate spatial representation
  • Integrate diverse data sources while maintaining established data management protocols and documentation standards
  • Create high-quality maps and graphics for technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications
  • Establish and enforce GIS data standards, quality assurance procedures, and process documentation
  • Collaborate with Land, Regulatory, Environmental, and Operations teams to deliver timely geospatial support

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced proficiency in GIS software platforms and spatial analysis methodologies
  • Strong technical skills working with raster, vector, and relational database formats
  • Proven ability to interpret and work with land surveys, legal descriptions, and regulatory documentation
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain spatial concepts and GIS findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professional experience supporting cross-functional teams in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to data quality, process documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, geology, surveying, or related discipline; equivalent professional experience considered
