The Opportunity

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer focused on metrology for DRAM production, bringing deep technical expertise to ensure the highest quality standards in dynamic memory manufacturing. You'll lead metrology strategy, advanced process characterization, and cross-functional initiatives within our Fab 4 technology development environment. This role offers the chance to impact how information transforms into intelligence—advancing innovation in memory and storage solutions that power everything from smartphones to data centers.

Core Duties

• Develop, validate, and optimize metrology processes and equipment integration for DRAM manufacturing
• Lead technical investigations into yield, defect analysis, and process performance using advanced measurement data
• Partner with process engineering, device design, and manufacturing teams to translate metrology insights into actionable improvements
• Establish measurement protocols, calibration procedures, and quality assurance standards for high-volume production
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical mentoring across the metrology discipline
• Document and communicate complex technical findings to support continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on metrology, process engineering, or manufacturing experience in semiconductor fabrication
• Deep knowledge of metrology techniques, equipment, and optical/scanning tools used in device characterization
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive root-cause analysis in complex manufacturing environments
• Proven track record of technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and project ownership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
