Maple Heights City Schools is hiring a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist for the 2026–2027 school year. Based in Maple Heights, Cuyahoga County, this position joins our Student Support Services team to provide essential communication and language services to students across the district.
About the Role
As a Speech and Language Pathologist in Maple Heights City Schools, you'll deliver direct student services, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate across our school community to support students' academic and social success. This full-time role combines clinical expertise with educational partnership, serving students from early intervention through secondary education.
What You'll Do
- Assess and evaluate students' speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based assessment tools and protocols
- Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans aligned with IEP goals and Ohio educational standards
- Provide direct and consultative services in school buildings, classrooms, and specialized settings
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, administrators, and families to integrate language support into academic instruction
- Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation and detailed progress monitoring records
- Participate in IEP meetings and 504 plan development and reviews
- Advocate for students' communication needs within the school environment
- Engage in professional development and stay current with evidence-based practices
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Ohio or ability to obtain
- Experience working with school-age populations and IEP-driven services preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive school communities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if serving multiple buildings
