About the Role

Lecturers in this pool deliver instruction across a range of Spanish‑language courses, from introductory language classes to upper‑division literature and linguistics seminars. The role supports the department’s mission to foster linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding among a diverse student body.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver syllabi for undergraduate and graduate Spanish courses.
• Create engaging lesson activities that develop speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.
• Assess student performance through examinations, essays, presentations, and participation.
• Hold regular office hours to provide academic support and feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and assessment initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.

What We're Looking For

• A master’s degree or higher in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Latin American Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level, preferably in language, literature, or linguistics.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and strong command of English.
• Ability to craft inclusive, student‑centered learning environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
• Commitment to upholding academic integrity and supporting the university’s diversity goals.
