Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager

AECOM is hiring a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead critical municipal water infrastructure projects in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this full-time role, you will manage complex initiatives from planning through delivery, ensuring projects serve the water and wastewater needs of communities across Salt Lake County.

About the Role

As Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager at AECOM, you'll direct the execution of municipal water distribution, treatment, and wastewater collection system projects. You'll manage project budgets, timelines, and team resources while coordinating with utility clients, government agencies, and contractors to deliver successful outcomes on schedule and within budget.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end project delivery for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure initiatives
• Develop comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans
• Oversee consultants, contractors, and internal teams to meet project deliverables
• Manage stakeholder relationships with utility districts, regulatory bodies, and community representatives
• Monitor project performance metrics and maintain cost, schedule, and quality controls
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards
• Identify and mitigate project risks and scope changes
• Report project status and prepare documentation for leadership review

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of project management experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or related engineering sectors
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or equivalent discipline
• PMP, DBIA, or comparable project management certification
• Proven track record managing projects valued at $5M or greater
• Technical knowledge of water treatment processes, distribution networks, and wastewater systems
• Experience with municipal permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory oversight
• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
