About This Position
At idealo, you will be at the heart of our data-driven marketing efforts. You'll lead the development of a critical frontend application and contribute across the full stack using Kotlin, TypeScript, React, Kafka, and AWS. Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust microservices while ensuring seamless production deployment and continuous improvement.
Core Duties
- Lead the development of our latest frontend application with React, Next.js, and Spring Boot.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices using Kotlin and TypeScript.
- Take end-to-end ownership from architecture to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Shape technical direction through architectural decisions and long-term platform evolution.
- Improve our engineering platform by advancing CI/CD pipelines, observability, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Collaborate with marketing and engineering teams to deliver reliable tracking and billing systems while continuously raising engineering quality.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with several years of professional experience in frontend development using TypeScript/JavaScript and backend development with Kotlin. Solid experience with React, Next.js, Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs is required. Additionally, you should have experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, and messaging patterns.
