Saab, a global defense and aerospace company, is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to join our production team in Darlington, Montgomery County. This full-time role offers the chance to work on mission-critical aircraft components for the United States military.
About the Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer at our Darlington facility, you'll oversee quality assurance and control processes for aerospace manufacturing. Your expertise will ensure that every component meets exacting military and aviation standards while supporting critical defense programs.
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, and refine quality control procedures and protocols for manufacturing operations
- Conduct inspections, testing, and audits of aerospace components to defense specifications
- Analyze quality metrics and data to identify improvement opportunities and trends
- Investigate defects and non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
- Mentor junior quality team members and provide technical leadership
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and program teams to resolve quality issues
- Ensure compliance with military specifications, FAA requirements, and aerospace industry standards
- Maintain comprehensive quality records and documentation for traceability and audits
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5+ years of quality engineering or assurance experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or similar)
- Demonstrated expertise in quality methodologies and continuous improvement
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes and military specifications
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work full-time in Darlington, Montgomery County
