ScholarshipOwl is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer (Nuxt.js + Node.js) to architect high-performance web applications that serve millions of students. This is a full-time, fully remote position open to candidates across Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Developer at ScholarshipOwl, you will take ownership of the technical foundation behind our core products, building modern experiences with Nuxt.js on the front end and Node.js/Python on the back end. You'll help carry our platform from legacy systems toward a scalable, future-ready architecture — and you'll set the pace by putting AI coding assistants such as Cursor and Antigravity, along with Model Context Protocols (MCPs), to work in raising both speed and code quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build performant web applications end to end, pairing Nuxt.js (Vue.js) on the client with Node.js/Python services.
- Apply Server-Side Rendering in Nuxt.js to strengthen SEO and keep page loads fast.
- Architect and tune GraphQL APIs capable of serving thousands of concurrent users.
- Spot and introduce new technologies — including AI tooling — that lift developer velocity and improve the product.
- Review code and guide junior engineers, keeping quality high as the team grows.
Qualifications
- 5+ years building software professionally.
- Deep command of Vue.js and Nuxt.js (lifecycle, middleware, plugins, Pinia/Vuex).
- Solid commercial work with Node.js/Python.
- Hands-on experience with SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Strong grasp of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and asynchronous patterns.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Jest, Playwright, or Vitest.
Nice to have: AI-assisted development with Cursor, Windsurf, or Copilot; MCP-driven workflows; LLM integration (Google Gemini, OpenAI); Google Cloud Platform experience (App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, BigQuery); comfort maintaining PHP within a LAMP setup during migrations; Python scripting; GraphQL schema design; and EdTech or high-traffic consumer platform background.
