Senior Counsel, Legal – Labor & Employment (MSO & Physician)

Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Counsel for Labor & Employment to lead legal strategy and risk mitigation for our Managed Services Organization (MSO) and physician operations in Charleston, West Virginia. This is a full-time legal position where you'll provide authoritative counsel on employment law matters to business leaders and HR professionals across our healthcare enterprise.

About the Role

As Senior Counsel for Labor & Employment, you'll serve as the primary legal advisor on workplace issues affecting our physician networks and managed services operations. You'll work directly with business leaders, Employee Relations teams, and Human Resources to identify potential legal risks and develop proactive strategies that mitigate employment law exposure.

What You'll Do

• Advise on employment law compliance, including wage and hour regulations, discrimination prevention, and benefits administration
• Review and draft employment contracts, severance agreements, and separation arrangements
• Guide HR teams through investigations, performance management decisions, and terminations
• Assess and advise on employment policies to ensure legal compliance and operational effectiveness
• Support physician recruitment, credentialing, and independent contractor arrangements
• Manage employment-related litigation and dispute resolution
• Monitor labor and employment law developments and brief stakeholders on compliance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Licensed attorney with demonstrated expertise in labor and employment law
• Experience advising on healthcare employment matters and physician relations
• Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal business stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and prioritize effectively
• Knowledge of federal and state employment law compliance
