About the Role
As a Hydraulic Structures Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of water infrastructure development and flood management. This role offers the chance to work on meaningful projects that protect communities and improve water resources. You'll contribute your technical expertise to the planning, design, and analysis of hydraulic systems that serve critical public purposes.
What You'll Do
- Design and evaluate hydraulic structures including dams, spillways, levees, and water conveyance channels
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and computational analysis using industry-standard software
- Develop detailed engineering reports and technical documentation
- Perform site assessments and field inspections to gather data and monitor existing structures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hydrologists, environmental scientists, and construction specialists
- Ensure projects comply with regulatory standards and environmental requirements
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or willingness to pursue
- Strong background in hydraulic design and open-channel hydraulics
- Proficiency with CAD and hydraulic modeling software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings
