Role Overview

As Security Officer at our downtown Portland, Maine hotel, you'll be the frontline protector of our property and community. This full-time position combines vigilant security monitoring with genuine hospitality—ensuring every guest and staff member feels safe. You'll work in a fast-paced hospitality environment where your attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service mindset directly impact guest satisfaction and property safety.

What You'll Do

• Monitor surveillance systems and patrol the hotel grounds to detect and prevent security threats
• Greet guests and staff with professionalism, verifying credentials and managing access points
• Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies following established protocols
• Conduct regular property inspections to identify vulnerabilities or maintenance concerns
• Maintain detailed security logs and incident reports
• Collaborate with hotel management and staff to uphold safety and security standards
• Provide a welcoming presence that reassures guests while maintaining vigilant protection
