About the Role
This full‑time, certificated nursing position is essential to maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment. The nurse provides direct care, coordinates health services, and acts as a liaison between families, educators, and community health providers.
What You'll Do
- Deliver routine and emergency health care to students, including assessment, first aid, and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
- Conduct health screenings such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks according to district schedules.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote wellness initiatives and address health‑related barriers to learning.
- Provide health education to students, staff, and families on topics like nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Participate in crisis response teams and assist with emergency preparedness drills.
- Coordinate with external health agencies for referrals, immunizations, and public health reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Current California School Nurse Services Credential.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience working in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard office software.
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality and adhering to professional nursing ethics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced educational environment.
