About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapy Instructor at Bakersfield College, you'll lead the respiratory therapy program, developing and delivering comprehensive coursework in respiratory care theory, clinical practice, and professional standards. What You'll Do

• Teach respiratory therapy courses across program levels, from foundational concepts through advanced clinical applications
• Design and refine curriculum aligned with current respiratory care standards and credentialing requirements
• Supervise students in clinical and laboratory settings, ensuring competency development and professional practice standards
• Evaluate student learning through assessments, projects, and clinical evaluations
• Mentor and support a diverse student body, fostering engagement and academic success
• Collaborate with healthcare partners and clinical sites to ensure real-world relevance and placement pathways
• Participate in program development, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory care practices, evidence-based protocols, and industry advancements

What We're Looking For

• Respiratory Therapy certification and licensure
• Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy or related health sciences field
• Clinical experience in respiratory care settings
