Siemens is hiring a Research Scientist - Embodied AI for our team in Berkeley, Alameda County. About the Role

As a Research Scientist in Embodied AI, you'll be part of Siemens' Research & Predevelopment organization, where fundamental discoveries drive next-generation innovations. You'll investigate how AI systems can understand and interact with the real world—a critical capability for the industrial and societal challenges ahead. Your work will span algorithm development, rigorous experimentation, and hands-on system building.

What You'll Do

• Conduct original research in embodied artificial intelligence, focusing on perception, learning, and control in physical systems
• Design and execute experiments to develop novel approaches and validate research concepts
• Build working prototypes and systems to test, refine, and advance ideas
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at academic and industry conferences
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and product teams across Siemens to translate research into real-world applications
• Investigate emerging techniques and methodologies in machine learning, robotics, and intelligent control

What We're Looking For

• Ph.D. in computer science, robotics, machine learning, controls, electrical engineering, or a related field—or equivalent demonstrated research experience
• Solid expertise in machine learning, computer vision, control theory, robotics, or closely related areas
• Proven ability to build working systems and conduct rigorous experimentation
• Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to your research domain
• Track record of independent research contributions, demonstrated through publications or patents
• Clear communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Collaborative approach and genuine interest in translating research into practical impact
