The Opportunity

Montefiore Medical Center is actively recruiting a Registered Respiratory Therapist at $58 per hour to support clinical operations in Englewood Cliffs, Bergen County. As a respiratory therapy professional, you'll deliver essential respiratory care services to patients across various acuity levels, working alongside a collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. This full-time, permanent position starts ASAP and provides ongoing employment within our respiratory care department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans in consultation with the medical team
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment, adjusting settings to meet clinical protocols and patient needs
• Perform airway management procedures, including intubation assistance and tracheostomy care
• Administer oxygen therapy and aerosol medications using appropriate delivery systems
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and interpret results to support clinical decision-making
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and self-management strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care activities and clinical observations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and adherence to safety standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• Valid state respiratory therapy license in New Jersey
• Associate degree or equivalent in respiratory therapy
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Strong clinical assessment skills and clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care delivery
• Successful completion of background check and credential verification
