About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Medical-Surgical Oncology unit, you'll deliver evidence-based care to patients navigating complex treatment journeys. This part-time role combines clinical excellence with patient advocacy, supporting individuals through chemotherapy, surgery, and other oncologic interventions in a supportive care environment.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor oncology patients, tracking vital signs, laboratory values, and treatment responses
- Administer medications including chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents with precision and compassion
- Manage post-operative care and complications for patients recovering from surgical procedures
- Educate patients and families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies
- Support symptom management including pain, nausea, and fatigue
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in clinical quality initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing, oncology, or related acute care settings
- Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC), bone marrow transplant (BMT) experience, or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification
- Preferred: Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification or clinical trial experience
- Excellent communication and compassionate patient care approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative care team
