Continental is seeking a Rechtsreferendar specialising in Datenschutzrecht (Data Protection Law) to join our Legal team in Hannover, NDS, DE. This full-time traineeship offers you the opportunity to develop deep expertise in data protection compliance and privacy law within a global leader in automotive technology and engineering.

Role Overview

As a Rechtsreferendar in our Data Protection practice, you will complete your mandatory referendariat within Continental's Legal department, focusing on data protection and privacy law. You will work alongside experienced legal counsel, gaining practical insight into how international data protection regulations shape business operations across the automotive and technology sectors. This traineeship balances structured legal training with real-world compliance challenges.

What You'll Do

• Support the legal team with data protection compliance matters across Continental's operations
• Conduct legal research on data protection legislation and regulatory developments in the automotive industry
• Assist in drafting and reviewing data protection policies, privacy notices, and compliance documentation
• Help implement data protection impact assessments and GDPR compliance processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate data protection risks
• Develop practical expertise in German data protection law within an international corporate environment

Who We're Looking For

• Successfully completed the first state examination in German law (Erste Juristische Staatsprüfung)
• Beginning or currently undertaking the two-year referendariat
• Demonstrated interest in data protection law, privacy regulation, and compliance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German
• Strong analytical and legal research capabilities
• Proficiency in English is beneficial
