Responsibilities
- Prepare exact quantity take-offs, cost estimates and bills of quantities from drawings, specifications and industry standards.
- Assess contractor bids and rates then aid recommendations on suppliers and subcontractors.
- Track expenditures and variations while compiling cost reports with progress valuations.
- Join value engineering sessions and drive measures that cut spending.
- Review and confirm baseline schedules along with later updates.
- Observe site progress and flag gaps between planned and actual performance.
- Coordinate with the project scheduler so quantities and costs stay matched to schedule status.
- Employ Bluebeam for digital markups, take-offs, design checks and document control.
- Draft cost summaries, change order evaluations, progress notes and formal reports.
- Align technical and commercial goals by partnering with engineering, procurement and site groups.
- Assist close-out tasks such as verifying final quantities, checking as-built costs and assembling turnover packages.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
- Proven background as Quantity Surveyor, Cost Estimator or comparable role on vertical or horizontal construction projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, contracts, specifications and schedules.
- Understanding of construction scheduling principles, with Primavera P6 or MS Project experience a plus.
- Preferred hands-on skill in Bluebeam and PlanSwift covering take-offs, markups and document comparison.
- Strong analytical ability, mathematics and cost review skills.
- Clear communication strengths paired with solid reporting capacity.
- Consistently high standards of accuracy, detail and documentation discipline.
