Provost & Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs

Medgar Evers College, a senior college of The City University of New York (CUNY), is seeking a Provost & Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs to lead our academic mission in Flatbush, Brooklyn. This is a full-time, leadership position reporting directly to the President.

Position Summary

As Provost & Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, you will serve as the College's chief academic officer, driving forward our commitment to educational excellence, access, and social justice. You will provide strategic leadership across all academic departments and programs, cultivating an environment where diverse students can excel intellectually and professionally.

Your Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs and curricula across all undergraduate and graduate offerings
• Provide executive leadership to the faculty, supporting professional development, research initiatives, and instructional innovation
• Manage the academic budget and allocate resources strategically to support institutional priorities and academic excellence
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements governing academic operations
• Collaborate with senior leadership to advance the College's strategic vision and long-term academic goals
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making across academic units

What You Bring

• An earned doctorate from an accredited institution and a distinguished record of scholarly accomplishment or intellectual leadership
• Significant experience in academic administration at the college or university level, with proven success leading large, complex academic operations
• A deep commitment to access, equity, and social justice in higher education
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing substantial academic budgets
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to lead institutional change and navigate competing priorities in dynamic environments
