Position Summary

The Project Controls Manager position with Cumminggroup in Raleigh, NC focuses on establishing robust systems to track progress, costs, and schedules across active initiatives. In this full-time role you will partner with project leads to identify variances early, maintain transparent reporting, and support on-time, on-budget outcomes that keep stakeholders aligned and confident.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and refine integrated cost-loaded schedules, ensuring all activities, resources, and milestones are captured and updated consistently.
• Monitor expenditures against approved budgets, perform detailed variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
• Lead change-order processes by quantifying impacts on scope, cost, and timeline, then documenting approvals for audit readiness.
• Produce clear performance reports and dashboards that communicate critical path status, earned-value metrics, and risk exposure to project teams and clients.
• Facilitate regular progress reviews, capture lessons learned, and continuously improve controls procedures used by the broader project management group.
• Coordinate with estimators, procurement, and field teams to maintain a single source of truth for all project data in Raleigh-based work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven professional experience serving as a Project Controls Manager or performing advanced project controls duties with responsibility for multi-project portfolios.
• Strong command of scheduling platforms, cost-control software, and earned-value techniques commonly used in project environments.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and maintain rigorous documentation standards under tight deadlines.
