Join MD Anderson Cancer Center's Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology as a Postdoctoral Fellow dedicated to advancing hepatocellular carcinoma research in Houston. About the Role
As a Postdoctoral Fellow in our GI Medical Oncology research program, you will conduct clinical and basic science research alongside senior investigators, with emphasis on immunotherapy pathways relevant to hepatocellular carcinoma. Your work will bridge laboratory discovery and patient care through analysis of clinical trial outcomes and investigation of molecular mechanisms in tumor and blood-derived samples.
What You'll Do
- Execute research protocols for an NIH SPORE-supported project investigating immunotherapy targets in gastrointestinal malignancies
- Analyze clinical trial data and correlate findings with mechanistic studies of patient specimens
- Conduct molecular and translational investigations into immune checkpoint pathways and therapeutic resistance
- Prepare manuscripts, grant applications, and presentations of research findings for peer review and scientific conferences
- Collaborate with clinical teams to design studies integrating patient outcomes with laboratory research
- Contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma and other gastrointestinal cancers
What We're Looking For
- MD, DO, or PhD in a relevant discipline (oncology, immunology, molecular biology, or related field)
- Research experience in translational oncology, immunotherapy, or tumor biology
- Strong ability to design and execute independent research projects
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing cancer therapeutics and patient care
