Physical Oil Trader – Vice President

Position Summary

As a Vice President within our Commodities Oil Trading division, you will manage a portfolio of physical and structured energy positions, directing trading decisions that drive profitability and market performance. This role requires deep engagement across origination, risk management, logistics, legal, and operations teams to execute seamless commercial transactions and maintain strong controls throughout the trading lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee market exposure and pricing dynamics for physical crude oil, petroleum products, and related energy contracts
• Direct the execution and optimization of structured energy deals to capture commercial value
• Monitor and manage the profit-and-loss profile of assigned trading positions
• Collaborate with risk, logistics, and middle/back office functions to ensure trades meet operational and compliance standards
• Lead strategic partnerships with origination teams to identify market opportunities
• Manage relationships with counterparties and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience trading physical energy commodities or structured energy products
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated P&L management
• Deep knowledge of oil markets, pricing mechanisms, and logistical considerations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
