About the Role

As Patient Services Specialist in our Patient Accounting department, you'll be at the intersection of patient care and healthcare operations. You'll manage patient interactions with professionalism and empathy, ensuring accurate account information and clear communication about financial responsibilities. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will directly impact how patients experience their time at Providence Valdez.

What You'll Do

• Register patients, verify insurance information, and collect accurate financial details
• Process payments and coordinate with patients regarding outstanding balances
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient account records while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards
• Respond to patient inquiries about bills, payments, and account status with clarity and compassion
• Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage details to patients
• Collaborate with billing and insurance teams to resolve account discrepancies
• Enter data accurately and efficiently into our patient management systems

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated customer service experience in a healthcare or similar setting
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (or willingness to learn)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion
• Medical terminology knowledge is a plus
