Under the direction of a certified teacher, provide support to students with special education needs in a full-time, non-exempt position. This role involves working closely with students and teachers to enhance their educational experience within an 188-day contract from Monday through Friday for 8 hours daily.

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
Support students with special educational requirements, including those who may have physical or cognitive disabilities
Facilitate a positive learning environment that encourages participation and engagement among all students
Collaborate with teachers and other paraeducators to ensure consistency in support strategies and interventions
Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as required by the school district

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or experience may be preferred
Certification or training in special education paraeducator is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff
Prior experience working with children with special needs is a plus
Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to diverse learning environments
