The Opportunity

Join Norwalk Public Schools as a Special Education Paraeducator working full-time at Jefferson Marine Science Elementary School. Under the direct supervision of special education teachers and administrators, you'll provide essential support to students with disabilities, helping them access the general education curriculum and build confidence in their academic and personal abilities. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instructional support to special education students in both classroom and specialized settings
• Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and classroom accommodations
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic assistance, skill reinforcement, and tutoring
• Support students with behavior management, self-regulation, and social-emotional development
• Help maintain an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages participation
• Collaborate with special education staff to monitor progress and communicate student observations
• Follow lesson plans and instructional direction from supervising educators
• Document student performance and provide feedback to the special education team

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED (required)
