About the Role
As an Overnight Shelter Monitor, you'll be the responsible presence residents depend on during overnight hours. Your role is crucial to maintaining the safety, dignity, and well-being of everyone at our Palatine shelter. This full-time, overnight position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives who are working toward housing stability.
What You'll Do
- Oversee shelter residents and overnight activities with attentiveness and care
- Monitor safety and security throughout the facility
- Respond to resident needs and concerns with professionalism and compassion
- Maintain a welcoming and clean shelter environment
- Conduct rounds and safety checks on regular schedule
- Enforce shelter policies and procedures consistently
- Document incidents and activities as required by the organization
- Coordinate with day-shift staff for continuity of care and services
