Position Summary

As an ADOS Assessor specializing in children and young people assessments, you will conduct rigorous diagnostic evaluations as part of a collaborative clinical team. Your role centers on administering standardized assessment protocols, synthesizing clinical findings, and generating detailed diagnostic reports that guide treatment planning and support families. Working independently yet collaboratively, you will contribute to timely diagnoses that expand access to neurodevelopmental care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) assessments with children and adolescents in accordance with diagnostic best practices
  • Perform clinical evaluation and integrate findings into diagnostic formulation within a multidisciplinary framework
  • Prepare comprehensive clinical documentation and diagnostic reports
  • Engage children, young people, and their families using neurodiversity-affirming approaches
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to establish consistent diagnostic standards
  • Support expedited, high-quality diagnostic pathways
  • Participate in clinical peer review and case discussion where appropriate
  • Utilize clinical information systems to support assessment delivery and documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Clinical degree or certification in Speech-Language Pathology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or equivalent regulated profession with demonstrated autism assessment competence aligned with clinical guidelines
  • Active registration with an appropriate regulatory body (HCPC, NMC, or equivalent)
  • Minimum two years of post-credential clinical practice experience
  • At least one year of documented experience administering ADOS within diagnostic contexts
  • Background in autism diagnostic assessment pathways or CAMHS neurodevelopmental services
  • Proven ability to assess and diagnose in supervised clinical settings
  • Track record of contributing to diagnostic assessments and clinical decision-making
  • Capacity to function effectively within multidisciplinary team structures
  • Ability to work effectively as an independent practitioner
  • Strong written clinical communication and report development skills
  • Proficiency with digital clinical information systems
  • Capability to engage as an independent contractor
