Mortgage Area Sales Manager I

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Mortgage Area Sales Manager I to lead mortgage loan origination and sales efforts across our Chicago, Cook County Financial Centers. In this full-time position, you'll drive residential mortgage origination from both internal and external referral channels while building and managing a high-performing team committed to exceptional customer service.

About the Role

As Mortgage Area Sales Manager I at Fifth Third Bank, you'll oversee residential mortgage loan production across our Chicago market, ensuring quality originations, strong customer relationships, and consistent achievement of sales targets. You'll supervise loan officers and support staff, manage the loan pipeline, and work closely with underwriting and processing teams to maintain operational excellence and meet established performance standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead residential mortgage loan origination activities for Financial Center locations and manage external referral partnerships
• Build, mentor, and supervise a team of loan officers, processors, and support staff to achieve production goals
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow mortgage volumes in Cook County and surrounding areas
• Manage the complete loan pipeline, ensuring timely processing, underwriting, and closing
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral sources
• Monitor team and individual performance against established metrics, KPIs, and organizational objectives
• Ensure full compliance with lending regulations, underwriting guidelines, and Fifth Third Bank policies
• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to drive team success

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in mortgage loan origination, sales, or management
• Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams
• Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and operational objectives
• Knowledge of residential mortgage products, lending guidelines, and compliance requirements
• Excellent relationship-building and client management skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
