About the Role
Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Inc. (DLS), operating under The Queen's Health Systems, is Hawaii's largest independently owned clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory. We serve patients and providers across Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan, leveraging advanced diagnostic testing and evidence-based laboratory practices to improve patient outcomes. This full-time Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician position enables you to directly impact patient care while working with modern instrumentation and evidence-informed protocols.
What You'll Do
- Perform clinical laboratory testing on blood, body fluids, and tissue samples using automated and manual techniques
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and regulatory compliance
- Analyze test results and recognize critical values requiring immediate physician notification
- Collect and process patient specimens while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards
- Maintain comprehensive laboratory records and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and clinical staff to support evidence-based patient care decisions
- Follow CLIA, CAP, and state regulatory requirements in all laboratory operations
What We're Looking For
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP, NCA, or equivalent credentialing body
- Strong technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and quality assurance procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to patient safety
- Professional communication skills and customer service orientation
- Reliable attendance and ability to meet scheduling requirements, including evening/night shifts
