Mechanical Design Engineer

Qualdoc is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Marietta, OH. This full-time role focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing industrial power distribution products for real-world industrial applications.

About the Role

As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll own the mechanical engineering function across our industrial power distribution product portfolio. This position bridges conceptual design with manufacturing reality, requiring both creative problem-solving and practical engineering discipline. You'll shepherd designs from initial concept through prototype validation, working closely with production, supply chain, service, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are reliable, manufacturable, and proven in the field.

Core Duties

• Develop and refine mechanical designs using professional CAD tools and standard engineering practices
• Create and validate prototypes to test design concepts and performance requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives on existing products, addressing performance gaps and manufacturing feedback
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and quality
• Engage with supply chain partners on component selection, sourcing, and lead-time considerations
• Partner with field service teams to capture real-world insights and inform design enhancements

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling (SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools)
• Proven background in product development within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to balance design functionality, manufacturability, cost, and performance requirements
• Strong communication and proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams
• Working knowledge of technical documentation, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes
