Role Overview

Anduril Industries develops advanced defense systems and autonomous technology that strengthen military and allied capabilities. As Deputy Head of Trade, you'll partner with the Head of Trade to establish and maintain comprehensive trade compliance programs across Anduril's operations. This position reports directly to the Head of Trade within the Legal Department and bridges regulatory requirements with operational urgency. You'll work in Washington, DC, collaborating closely with engineering, business development, government affairs, and operations teams to embed compliance throughout Anduril's technology portfolio.

Core Duties

• Work alongside the Head of Trade and executive leadership to establish trade compliance strategy and translate strategic objectives into organizational priorities.
• Provide specialized counsel on trade regulations, export controls, and sanctions compliance matters to company leadership.
• Lead M&A due diligence and integration activities from a trade compliance perspective.
• Oversee compliance-related audits, investigations, and regulatory disclosures.
• Engage with government agencies and regulators to advance Anduril's compliance initiatives and strategic interests.
• Foster a business culture that sustains competitive growth while maintaining full compliance with international and U.S. trade laws.
• Develop and refine trade compliance policies that balance regulatory rigor with operational reality.
• Deploy artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to enhance compliance programs, including automated sanctions screening, export classification systems, restricted-party monitoring, and regulatory intelligence tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in trade controls within legal, compliance, or related roles.
• Demonstrated expertise navigating international trade regulations covering the United States, European Union, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Proven ability to resolve complex regulatory challenges and navigate compliance obstacles effectively.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred experience includes: background in unmanned autonomous systems (UAS) or robotic systems product development; knowledge of export compliance in product design; familiarity with ATF import regulations and product classification; understanding of Missile Technology Control Regime guidelines and U.S. UAS policy; or experience managing technical infrastructure and training engineering teams.
