Market Vice President, Philanthropy

Drive philanthropic strategy and growth as Market Vice President, Philanthropy for Beth Israel Lahey Health, a major healthcare system in the United States. In this full-time leadership position, you'll oversee development operations for Winchester Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess - Needham, partnering with hospital leadership and boards to build transformative philanthropic support that strengthens patient care, community health programs, and the strategic vision of both institutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Divisional Vice President of Philanthropy, you'll lead comprehensive fundraising strategy across your market territory. You'll develop and execute multi-year funding strategies designed to increase philanthropic revenue, deepen donor engagement, and accelerate the realization of capital and annual giving priorities that support clinical excellence and community benefit initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute major gifts, principal gifts, and planned giving strategies aligned with hospital mission and community health priorities
• Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners
• Lead prospect identification, qualification, and solicitation strategy across the market
• Oversee annual giving and capital campaign planning, case development, and execution
• Partner with hospital executives, board members, and medical staff to position institutions for philanthropic support
• Analyze market conditions, track giving trends, and optimize fundraising strategy based on performance data
• Build, develop, and support the effectiveness of development team members

What We're Looking For

• Extensive major gifts and capital campaign experience in healthcare or nonprofit environments
• Demonstrated success securing six and seven-figure philanthropic commitments
• Deep understanding of healthcare philanthropy, donor psychology, and nonprofit board dynamics
• Strong strategic planning, executive communication, and relationship-building abilities
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing development teams
• Working knowledge of healthcare compliance, charitable tax regulations, and nonprofit management best practices
