Maintenance Technician (Maker’s Rise)

Van Metre Companies is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for Maker's Rise, our residential apartment community in Herndon, Fairfax County, Virginia. In this hands-on role, you'll keep our community safe, comfortable, and well-maintained while working closely with our Property Manager and Service Manager.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician at Maker's Rise Apartments in Herndon, you'll be the skilled professional our residents depend on for reliable, timely service. You'll handle a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks throughout the community, ensuring all building systems operate smoothly and residents enjoy a well-maintained home.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in residential units and common areas
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance issues
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with Property and Service Managers
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to keep systems running efficiently
• Document all work completed and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Follow all safety protocols and building codes throughout your work

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician or in a skilled building trade
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently to implement solutions
• Detail-oriented approach with commitment to quality and professionalism
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
