Maintenance Technician

What This Role Involves

As a Maintenance Technician with Ohioliving at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber, you will serve as a hands-on problem solver who keeps physical spaces and mechanical systems in sound working order. The position balances reactive repairs with planned upkeep, prioritizes safety and clean workmanship, and supports smooth daily operations through timely, accurate technical work. Full-time commitment is required, with all duties performed on site rather than remotely.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair building systems, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components that arise during routine walks or work orders
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and infrastructure according to established schedules to reduce unexpected downtime
• Respond promptly to service requests, assess urgency, and restore function while following safety standards and site procedures
• Inspect grounds, interiors, and mechanical rooms for wear, leaks, or hazards and document findings clearly
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments properly; maintain cleanliness of work areas and secure storage of materials
• Coordinate with colleagues on larger projects, parts needs, or outside vendor support when specialized work exceeds in-house scope
• Record completed jobs, track inventory of common supplies, and communicate status so the team stays informed

Who We're Looking For

• Practical knowledge of general facility maintenance and the ability to troubleshoot common mechanical and building issues
• Comfort performing physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting materials, and working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
• Dependable work habits, clear spoken and written communication, and care for detail when following procedures or safety rules
• Prior experience in a similar Maintenance Technician or building-services role is valued; willingness to learn site-specific systems is essential
